The Wok Inn, situated in Sheep Street, Northampton, is owned by Yuet Fat Lam and his wife Susan, formerly from Hong Kong and London.

Yuet who is not only the owner, but also the Head Chef of the Wok Inn, has travelled around Europe, and worked in many culinary areas to improve his skills. Through the course of his travels he has, on 2 ocassions, had the pleasure of cooking for the Prince of Monaco and his family, and has also worked at the Mr Kai restaurant, Mayfair, London, and catered for such famed personalities as Joan Collins, Roger Moore, and Sarah Ferguson (ex-Duchess of York).
During his travels he was also charged with training the Prince of Saudi Arabia's Chef. Primarily self taught, Yuet is also continuing a family tradition passed down from his grandfather who used to cater for all their village events.

Before taking over the busi­ness in 1999, owner Yuet-Fat Lam had been head chef at the Dorchester Hotel and Zen Restaurant in Mayfair, London.

He has been cooking for most of his life and has prepared many dishes for the rich and famous, and some of them have dined at the Wok Inn. The restaurant also received a gold award from Quality Food Online, for outstanding achievement and contribution to the pursuit of excellent food and service. The Wok Inn has been at the forefront of many develop­ments in restaurant culture. Their innovative answer to the popular "eat as much as you like" menu was to offer a huge choice of dishes, cooked to order rather than sitting on a hot plate. Customers can then repeat their favourites. Alternatively, there is also a set menu, and a comprehen­sive wine list.

After tasting a variety of his sumptuous dishes it is easy to see that not only is the chef friendly and talented but so are his staff, all of whom have been with Yuet and Susan since they opened in 1999, which goes to consistency of staff and of course excellent service for the large number of regulars that dine there.
